The North Eastern Junior Cricket Association’s objectives are to promote junior cricket throughout the North Eastern suburbs of Adelaide by providing an organised, structured competition for all children to play cricket
NEJCA’s rules support the learning and development of cricket skills in each age group with an emphasis on participation every week. NEJCA’s Rules follow the MCC Laws of Cricket, Cricket Australia’s Junior Formats with additional rules to maximise equal opportunities for all Junior Cricketers, providing better experiences for young players and opportunities for cricketers to develop their skills.
The fourth round of each season is the Spirit of Cricket round to provide junior cricketers with the experience of reading/listening to the Preamble to the Laws of Cricket prior to the game with all Players, Coaches, Parents & Umpires present. This reminds players of their responsibility for ensuring that cricket is always played in a truly sportsmanlike manner and explains the roles and responsibilities of Captains, Players and Umpires. It emphasises that players should respect their teammates, exercise self- discipline, play hard but fair & respect and uphold the Spirit of Cricket.
NEJCA’s aim is to provide the best cricketing experience in a safe and supported environment for all children who want to play cricket.
NEJCA is a Junior Cricket Association run by volunteers with a Representative from each of its 18-member Community Cricket Clubs who form a Committee to provide guidance, education and innovation across each Cricket Season.
Junior Cricket development is an important part of the pathway for Junior Cricketers to develop skills, learn to play the game of cricket, develop lasting friendships and a love of the game and progress into Senior teams at their Community Club.
NEJCA is a Junior Cricket Association Supporting 18 Cricket Clubs with Over 100 Junior Cricket Teams.
